Anne McHale is one of only 394 people globally, and one of only 137 women, to have achieved the coveted Master of Wine title. Originally from Northern Ireland, she’s now based in London where she enjoys a varied career in the wine industry. She hosts private and corporate tastings, judges wines, advises restaurants and hotels on their wine lists, and teaches people about wine at every level from beginner through to Master of Wine.
In 2003, Anne moved to London and joined the wine trade, working for businesses as diverse as Mistral Wines, New Zealand Wines and the John Lewis Partnership.
In 2006, she joined the prestigious Berry Bros. & Rudd, where she worked for ten years in the Wine School team, initially in administration and event logistics, and subsequently as an educator and events host. Whilst at Berry Bros. & Rudd Anne passed the highly sought-after Master of Wine qualification, thereafter broadening her position within BBR to an ambassadorial role, representing the company at events held all over the UK as well as in their Asian bases of Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Her style is unstuffy, fun and unintimidating; her aim always is to maximise the pleasure you get from drinking wine!
